2026 Alaska Women Veterans Retreat

Women veterans and Base Camp leaders gather during the 2026 Alaska retreat.

A shared Alaska experience for connection, reflection, and leadership.

The 2026 Alaska Women Veterans Retreat brought women veterans and Base Camp leaders together in a setting designed for honest conversation, meaningful challenge, and community. The retreat connected wilderness experience with listening circles, peer support, and time to consider what service, transition, and purpose look like in the next chapter.

Why This Retreat Matters

Women veterans carry distinct experiences of service and transition. Creating a dedicated space makes room for those experiences to be heard without pressure to explain or minimize them. The retreat emphasized dignity, agency, and belonging through shared effort.

Listening, Learning, and Mentorship

Structured listening circles gave participants space to speak, reflect, and learn from one another. The retreat also supported the development of mentors who can help extend connection beyond a single Alaska gathering and strengthen future veteran communities.

Wilderness and Community

Alaska's landscape invited participants to slow down, pay attention, and work together. Time outside was paired with preparation, reflection, and community—not treated as a stand-alone adventure. Meals, movement, conversation, and quiet moments all became part of the experience.

What Comes Next

The retreat is part of P&V's broader commitment to programs that help veterans connect experience to education, leadership, research, and purposeful next steps. Future updates will share approved program outcomes and participant stories as they become available.
