P&V Programs

Women veterans gather for a listening circle inside the Base Camp lodge.

From Wilderness Experience to Lasting Change.

The wilderness is not simply a destination. It creates space to reconnect with ourselves through nature, challenge familiar patterns, strengthen connection, and consider what we want to carry forward.

Wellness in the Wild

P&V expeditions and retreats are nature-immersive experiences that support connection, reflection, renewed purpose, peer community, and reintegration through shared challenge and wilderness experience.

2026 Alaska Women Veterans Retreat

This P&V-led retreat brought women veterans together for wilderness experience, shared meals, listening circles, mentor development, reflection, and community on Kachemak Bay.

Uniform to University

Uniform to University is research-informed support for veterans transitioning from military service into higher education. The program draws on Catkin Burton-Kilcher's organizational-development research, with emphasis on structure, routine, land-based experience, belonging, purpose, and intentional reintegration planning.

Planned for 2027: The inaugural cohort will translate this research into a structured wilderness-immersion and reintegration experience for veterans preparing for college life.

Once a Marine, Always Evolving.

The goal is not to erase the warrior identity, but to integrate discipline, resilience, teamwork, service, and leadership into what comes next.

Pioneer-Veteran Philosophy

Pioneers and veterans may appear to come from different worlds, yet both understand uncertainty, resilience, adaptation, service, and reliance on community. P&V lives at the intersection of those traditions: honoring where we have been while creating space for who we can become.
