Preserving the Stories of Those Who Built, Served, and Endured.

The pioneer builds upon the past not to erase it, but to create a future that honors the sacrifices and lessons of those who came before. P&V's Heritage & Legacy work preserves and activates those stories for future generations.

Ruth Kilcher Marriott Collection

This work will feature writings, letters, photographs, film, recordings, artifacts, and other materials documenting Ruth's life, voice, family, and contribution to Alaska history.

Pioneer & Homestead History

We preserve and share stories of Ruth and Yule Kilcher, the Kilcher Homestead, neighboring pioneer families, homesteading traditions, and the generations who carried them forward.

Veteran Legacy

Oral histories, photographs, film, personal narratives, and archival materials document military service, transition, resilience, and the experiences of veterans connected to P&V Base Camp.

Internships & Partnerships

  • Film internship program with the University of Hawai'i.
  • Archive internship program with the University of Alabama.
  • Coordination and partnership with the Pratt Museum.

As rights, digitization, and collection organization permit, future digital exhibits will make more of this history accessible to the public.
