What We Do

Two people walk a trail toward Kachemak Bay and the Alaska mountains.

Three connected pillars. One shared purpose.

Pioneers & Veterans Base Camp brings together practical Alaska operations, veteran-centered programs, and the preservation of pioneer and veteran heritage. Each pillar reinforces the others, creating a place where people can explore, research what works, and build a legacy worth carrying forward.

1. Base Camp Operations & Partnerships

Base Camp is an Alaska-based operational hub for aligned veteran and wilderness organizations. We help partners receive participants, prepare teams, support field experiences, and create a thoughtful bridge back to civilian, educational, family, and community life.

2. P&V Programs

Our programs connect wilderness experience with reflection, education, mentorship, and purposeful next steps. Current work includes wellness in the wild, the Alaska Women Veterans Retreat, Uniform to University, and the Pioneer-Veteran Philosophy.

We preserve the stories, photographs, oral histories, and lived experience that connect Alaska's pioneering past with the veteran experience of service, transition, resilience, and renewal.
